Hub City Dinner

If you live in Spartanburg, or plan to visit soon, let me recommend you try dinner at the Hub City Chophouse Seafood Grill in Morgan Square. A friend of Ron's from high school opened this place up a little while back and we finally tried it out tonight. The dining room is gorgeous....lots of elegant furniture and New York City murals, lighting and great music playing (tonight we heard "Unforgettable", a jazzy version of David Bowie's "Ground Control to Major Tom" and Sinatra crooned "Luck be a Lady" as we were leaving).......the only thing it needs is a dance floor.

Dinner was delicious. We started out with crab cakes (WOW!) and a house salad and then Ron and I both had the Mahi Mahi. It came with a MOUNTAIN of garlic mashed pototoes that were awesome and carrots and asparagus. But, the Mahi was superb. It is rare to find a great restaurant in Spartanburg with good, yet affordable seafood. This is definitly the place. Clay had the quesadillas from the appetizer menu and they were excellent, too. Our little "grilled cheese" expert, declared the kid's meal a winner! (The fries on the kid's meal were seasoned and very yummy!)

If you have a chance to go for lunch or dinner, take it! The food is moderately priced and unlike some finer dining restaurants, the presentation, quanity and quality all meshed really well. We hope this is a Hub City keeper!
