Ringing in the New Year

The Brooks (Matthew, Kim and Philip) came over to ring in 2006 with us. Excepting last year, when we were all sick (we laughed that now we know what was wrong with 2005), we think this was our 4th year.

Ron and Clay fixed us a yummy breakfast and we tried to watch the New Year's Eve specials. But, this year, the shows were terrible. We did break out a bottle of sparkling grape juice and watch the after midnight cover-tune performance on MTV, as is tradition. It was mostly a quite celebration, but it was wonderful to spend it with good, old friends.

Our main excitement for the night was when Philip began crying and Kim went in to check on him (he was in our room asleep in his pack-n-play). She discovered that he had gotten an unexpected, cold shower! His humidifier had hummed off our dresser and into the pack-n-play. After a quick clothes change, drying of the bed and blankets, he stayed up and celebrated 12:00 with the rest of us.
