Clay's New Hobby

As I mentioned yesterday Clay began his Cycling merit badge today. One of the Asst. Scoutmasters is heavily into cycling and he's leading the four boys who came today in a series of seven rides. The first two are 10 miles (he did one of these today), two are 15 miles, two are 25 miles and the final one is a whopping 50 mile ride that has to be completed within one 8 hour time frame. Clay did awesome and he loved it! Clay has always loved riding his bike and this seems to be "his thing". I think he likes the fact that he's using his dad's 15+ year old road bike.
Here is the funny thing, I tried to sell this bike at a yard sale last year and, though I sold Ron's old mountain bike and almost everyone looked at this one, it didn't sell. We hung it back in the garage and said we'd try again at the next yard sale. Lucky for us, it was still in the garage and Clay is just at the size to start using it.

Getting ready to go, Ryan and Clay prepare to fall into line.

And, they are off............

Clay rode in to the parking lot smiling! He was tired, but said he had a "blast".
