On Friday we took the entire third grade to Columbia for a field trip. Columbia was beautiful, but unseasonably hot!
After touring the SC State Museum, we visited the grounds of the State House and drove past the Governor's Mansion on our way home. Unfortunately, the State House couldn't accomodate a group of our size so we didn't get to actually go inside. (Above: Painted Palmetto Trees at the Museum. Below: Me and my teaching partner, Wendy, on the State House grounds.)
I can't wait to take a day this summer to go back and visit Columbia more thoroughly.
Have you ever wondered what teacher's really do on field trips?!? We hide in the gift shop and try on bow ties! Actually, we were looking for a "thank you"gift for our grade rep. and Kaye and I decided to have a little fun.
