After church today there was a youth cookout and "play day"...Ron cooked burgers as always and after lunch the kids and adults spread out all over the property to do their "thang". Some played on the playground, played baseball, football, and just hung out. Clay, of course, went straight for the football game on the church lawn. It was a beautiful day to be out having a good time, but it was actually a little cold!
Here I am with my good friend and sorority sister, Jennifer, after the cookout. She and her husband, Chris, and Ron and I have been friends for over 10 years! Jennifer is my little sister's little sister and our boys are good friends now. It is so wonderful for our families that we all go to church together. Over the years, we've become friends with her entire family and her nephew is one of Clay's best friends. Jennifer's parents joined our church this morning -- Al is our insurance agent...I told you we were connected to the family! -- and we are so excited to have them. We are SO fortunate that God placed them in our lives so many years ago and they continue to be a blessing to us.
