Summer Reading

I've been to the library, Barnes and Noble and Wal-Mart this past week gathering up some summer reading (not including professional reading for school, of course!) and here is what I have come up with:

Shem Creek by Dorothea Benton Frank --- read this one this past week. Typical Frank lowcountry tale. Makes me want to move to the coast.....RIGHT NOW!

The DaVinci Code by Dan Brown ---- started this one last night and so far very intriguing mystery. I've been watching the hoopla around this one and decided to see for myself.

Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston

A Moment of Weakness by Karen Kingsbury

The Art of Mending by Elizabeth Berg

The Year of Pleasures by Elizabeth Berg (I did read the first chapter of this one in B&N and I LOVED her voice.....I plan to read this one though for the book club I am required to be a part of for the Writing Project)

The Poisonwood Bible by Karen Kingsolver --- I read this one years ago and didn't like it very much. But, I'm reading for voice this time and who knows, sometimes our moods/feelings change....maybe I'll like it much better.

That should get me through July 4th at least!
