Wize 'N Up - Night 1

This week is Wize 'N Up at our church. Wize 'N Up is sort of like VBS, just more high powered. Each group of 10-12 kids is color-coded and two coaches and an assistant coach hang out with them for the duration of the night. (Except last night, our team had 1 coach and 3 assistants...it worked out very well, though) The night starts out with team time (taking attendance, playing a little game, etc.), then progresses to the auditorium for some seriously rocking, loud music, KidStuf skits and a lesson (this week's lesson is on Faith - believing in what you can't see based on what you can see), and then it is outside each night for some WILD AND MESSY GAMES! Last night we had "spongebottom wetpants" (you know, tie a sponge to your bottom, dip it in a pool of water and then wring it into a bucket!), "over-under applesauce pass" and the favorite of the night, the cheese puff/cool whip slip-n-slide....it was messy and yucky but FUN! We can't wait to see what is planned for us tonight!

The blue team is ready for the games to begin!

Over-Under Applesauce Pass.

Because Ben is always around the youth with us, they have become like his older brothers and sisters....he thinks that he is the only little kid they are allowed to play with! Luckily for us, his buddy Robin helped out the Blue team since Ron had to miss the first night!

Ben runs -- instead of sliding -- on the cool whip/cheese puff slip and slide. Robin waits at the end to count the cheese puffs and make sure no one keeps on sliding into the drain!

Ben is soaked and has cool whip all in his hair, but he is THRILLED!

Erin, Michele, Clay, Robin and Susan are helping out as Assistant Coaches -- somehow, they got dirtier than the kids...hmmm......wonder how that happened?!?!
