On any given day, as a teacher, you just never know what to expect. After two days out with sick boys, I knew I would start today out behind. So, I get to school and my desk is stacked to ceiling. We're studying the Revoutionary War right now and just finished the Boston Tea Party. I decided to have a "tea party" for my students and it was scheduled for today. The parents were great about sending in gallons of tea, cookies and finger sandwiches for us. We had a great time eating, reviewing and watching a Boston Tea Party video.
As it is wrapping up, one of my parents tells me that his brother is with him and they have brought a surprise to show the class......yeah...suprise....the brother comes in with TWO SNAKES IN HIS PANTS POCKETS!!!!!!!!! They were some type of python that isn't poisonous. The kids, of course, are thrilled. They finally convince me to hold the thing.....and, it was actually kind of cool. Snakes feel totally different than I thought. Not slimy, but heavy and thick. Alive. Still, I don't care to see another one anytime soon!

You are so brave!!!! I would have totally freaked! As a child I stepped on a black snake and lets just say I about died!
