Guess What?!?!

Yup....Ben and I have the flu.

Ben has had a cough and what appeared to be a cold since yesterday and I started with a sore throat on Sunday. I felt terrible today at school and had the nurse check my temp at lunch. It was slightly under 100. So, I texted Ron that I was sick and going to the doctor if I could get an appointment and called my doctor as soon as school was over. He said to come right on. I called my mom to pick up Clay, but she was in bed sick, too! I went on to the junior high and checked Clay out early and headed off to the office. Once we got there I noticed that Ben didn't look too great. His cheeks were red, he was coughing and complaining he didn't feel good. We know our nurse really well, so she checked his temp, too and to our shock he was running a higher fever than I was! They did the strep test and then the flu test. Ben's came back full blown flu and mine is in the early stages. Now, we have three day vacation from school --- full of sleep, meds and fluids....per the doctor.
