Star Searching

Well, he'd already gone, but we were at a place that could have had "George Clooney was here" written all over it.

On Saturday, after being stuck inside for days, we needed to get out and get some air. After lunch, Ron suggested we drive over the the 9th grade campus football field and see if any remnants from the filming, a week or so ago, of Clooney's movie "Leatherheads" were still there. Much of it had been torn down, but we were still able to walk the field and see some of the set that was used to recreate a fictional 1920s football field. We were amazed at how "old" everything looked.

For Clay, he'll be able to show the movie to his grandchildren one day, point out the field and say "I played junior high football on that field."

The entrance to Duluth Field.

The fence was erected around the field and was used for "advertisements".

Clay and Ben try out the "sled".

The real press box was covered in wood to make it look authentic to the time period.

They even build a "locker room".

Ironically, the movie team is the "Duluth Bulldogs" and this segment was filmed on the field of the "Boiling Springs Bulldogs"
