October is my absolute favorite month of the year. The air is getting cool, football, the fair comes to town, pumpkins and there are just so many things to do! We're looking forward to the fair in the next week, more football games, HalloWonka, Boo in the Zoo, Tricks and Treats at the State Museum, finishing soccer season and the pumpkin patch.
Since Clay was a baby we have always taken a day at Nivens Apple Farm. Having moved we thought we should start something new and we couldn't find a pumpkin farm very close. I had read about a fall festival at a church downtown that included a pumpkin patch. Clay is gone rock climbing, but Ron, Ben and I thought it sounded like fun.
After driving to Winnsboro for a country cooking lunch, we headed downtown to check out the festival. It was a lot of fun---games for Ben, snacks, cars and trucks and pumpkins. Ben played games for candy, we picked up a goody-bag for Maggie with free food, a bandanna, a brush and a frisbee. What a great start to our fall calendar!
