My "New" Job

What a fun day! Week before last I was approached about an opportunity to work in our church's office one day a week for the rest of the summer. And, so, today I "trained" with the church Administrative Assistant so that I can start on Friday. It was such a fun day.....I actually got to do things I like to do with ADULTS around!! Let's see, I learned how to use the folding machine (way cool tool!), the postage machine (another cool tool), use the phone system and then I put together booklets for a camp our pastor is serving at next week and two mailings for the children's department. It was so different from teaching school, but definitly exciting. It reminded me of my old event planning days that I miss.

It made me think about how several years ago while perusing an Atlanta newspaper I came across my ideal job....it was an Events Planner/Ministry Assistant for a church in the ATL area. The person would be responsible for planning church-related events (weddings, conferences, etc.) and ministry events (youth, children, etc.) in conjunction with the ministers. I keep hoping that God will place a similiar job in my path one day. In the meantime, I can't wait 'til Friday!
