Change of plans

It looks like we won't be going on our NJ, NY trip after all. When I got out of school today, the shelter had called and there was an "issue" with Annie's surgery and they needed to confirm with me before going ahead. Remember her formerly broken leg? Well, they think it might be a torn ligament and she might need surgery. They wanted to know if we still wanted her. I must say that I LOVE RON!! I called him all upset about this and he said there was no question. We were getting Annie and we'd take care of her. He then called the vet on his other line and arranged for me to take her straight there tomorrow when I pick her up.

Now, what does all this have to do with our trip? First, we might have to have the surgery. Second, we would pick her up tomorrow and then take her directly to a sitter....how fair is that? Third, the girl surgery tomorrow had us a little worried about leaving immediatly.

They let us go back to see her before we left and she was SO sweet! She got all excited and ran right up to us. I picked her up and she was shaking and, this is so cute, she snorted at me in excitement! We told her we'd see her tomorrow and then we were going to take care of her.

So, looks like we'll be around her this weekend.....no big trip to the city, but, the satisfaction of knowing that Annie now has a home where she will be loved and taken care of.
