After a full day of water fun, we had a cook out on Tuesday night. Aunt Kim makes pork BBQ every year and lots of other yummy 4th treats. About 9 p.m. we loaded up the pontoon, the ski boat and one of Leonard's friend's boats and headed out on the lake for fireworks. Even though the water was a little choppy and we were a little late for the entire fireworks show, we had a blast.
Funny story: Ashley's son, David, was a little scared because it started thundering and lightening way off in the distance about the time we pulled off the dock. Ashley finally convinced him that all he was seeing was fireworks going off all around the lake. Ron tells him that those are probably "Spartanburg Fireworks" that he is seeing all the way up at Lake Wylie....for the entire time, Ron, Ashley and I can't stop laughing about the "Spartanburg fireworks".....Once we got back, Leonard, Zack and some of Zack's friends set off their own fireworks on the beach. I was a little disappointed, though, I've waited since December to use my Kodak's "fireworks" feature and the shots didn't turn out as good as a I expected, especially those of the big fireworks over the bridge (of course that might have something to do with the rocking boat).
We had a wonderful time this year with the family for the 4th of July! It is always so great to see Aunt Marti, Ashley and David. We wish we could see them more than once or twice a year.

We love the lake and look forward to going.....and it is always sad when it is time to come home from all of the fun!
