There's A First Time For Everything...

Happy 4th of July!!! I hope that your day has been spent with family and friends celebrating our wonderful country and the freedom it affords us, even though we often take it for granted.

We are still at the lake and today has been a blast! Loads of people have been here for lake fun and I'm waiting now for the evening BBQ.

From a self-proclaimed non-swimmer (I never learned as a kid), I LOVE the water and I enjoy being a water person....how weird is that?! In the 13 years I've been coming to Kim and Leonard's, I've progressed from barely leaving the house, much less the porch, to sitting at the beach, to going out on the boat, to riding the jet ski, to (this year) GOING TUBING!!!! Yes, I got on a tube in the middle of the lake (Ben and I switched places) with Ron's cousin, Ashley, and his Aunt Kim pulled us around. It was so awesome! And, even more hilarious! Ron and Kim couldn't decide if we were screaming in terror or laughing. We were definitly laughing! Who knows, by next year, I might even be swimming in the lake.....(Mel's disclaimer: I ALWAYS wear a life jacket when I jet ski and tube!)

Well, I haven't downloaded my pictures yet and I really haven't taken too many because my battery is dying and I want some juice for the fireworks tonight. Unfortunately, as Clay said, we didn't take the camera out for the tubing excursion.....especially when Ashley fell into the water trying to get on the tube from the boat....Loved it, Ashley!

Anyway, I hope your 4th is fabulous!
