Do you know who Willie Korn is?

If you are a college football fan, especially Clemson, I can almost guarantee that by this time next year, you will. Korn is quarterback for Byrnes High School here in Spartanburg. He is the #2 QB in the nation and Byrnes is one of the top 5 high school football teams in the nation (they are #1 in SC). Corn has already signed to play for the Tigers and we expect to see GREAT things from him....as a matter of fact, he'll be finishing his senior year in December and starting at Clemson in January so that he can participate in spring training with the team.


We got the chance to meet Korn after the game....what a nice kid. We took a picture and then Ron took the chance to go ahead and get Korn's autograph on his (actually it is mine, but he's taken it over) favorite CU hat. One funny moment, if you've seen Friday Night Lights (the movie, not the TV show....side note, though, the show is my favorite NEW show of the season....I LOVE it on Tuesday nights), there is a scene where a couple wants to make a picture of their baby with the star QB. While we were waiting, this couple walks up and asks, "Can we take a picture of our baby with you?" and then they thrust the baby in his arms. I suddenly felt like I was in a movie, under the lights on the field, after the game, with all of the noise, cameras and quick interviews, the smell of cleat-torn grass...... It was one of those moments that you just feel like you've been transplanted and it almost seems dreamlike.
