Four of us (me, Suzy, Julie and Evangeline) left early Sunday morning and made great time....we got to Charleston from Boiling Springs in 2 1/2 hours! After lunch at AW Shucks we spent the rest of the afternoon shopping in the market and on King Street. I had read about this new "bakery" called "Cupcake" ....can you guess what they sell? So, we hiked a half a dozen blocks to find out it was closed. We settled for a smoothie and then headed to drop off bags at the hotel and figure out where to eat dinner. We ended up at Southend Brewery (it is in the old East Bay Trading which was my favorite Charleston restaurant) where it was almost empty and we sat at the table laughing and talking for over 2 hours.....til they closed. We headed back to the hotel to wait on Wendy and Sharon who arrived about midnight.
On Monday we conferenced and then did some more shopping with Wendy and Sharon. We went back to Cupcake for an afternoon snack and all I can say is YUMMY! I had the carrot cake and a red velvet for later.
We finished up with dinner at Tommy Condon's and then chatted at the hotel for a while before turning in early.

we stopped for a picture in Francis Marion Park
Today, we got up for the conference again. Before hitting the road home we made a couple of quick last stops around the area and drove to the outskirts of Charleston for lunch at Hooter's. And, it was a HOOT!

We had such a good time that it was hard to leave and come home, though I was really ready to see Ron, the boys and Maggie. The hardest part of all is having to come and know that tomorrow is back to the real world.
