A Good DRYER Update
Well, one load later the dryer is hooked up and its drying! On the positive, it has an energy efficient mode (we'll see how good it actually works), but on the negative side, the laundry room door scrapes it everytime we open/close the door......oh well, you can't have everything and I'll take clothes dried at home with an open door any day over the laundrymat! :)

Well, as to the scraping door. Could you remove the laundry door and store it so it can go back up when you move then put up a neat curtain with a great color or theme that goes with the apartment? On the side of the dryer and washer, put a hook so that you can pull the curtain to the side to do laundry.
Just an idea from someone who moved 14 times in 20 years and had to adjust to one strange house to the next.
