Gooney Birds

Tonight was the monthly "event" for the Butterfly Belles Red Hat Chapter. I know, I am nowhere near 50! But, I love being a pink hat (until the magic age, I get to wear lavendar and pink). Its just like being in a sorority without the letters. If you aren't familiar with the Red Hat Society it is a "disorganization" started for women 50 and older and the only goal is to just have fun. Since we under-50s discovered the really great time, Sue Ellen Cooper, designated us as ladies-in-waiting, or pink hats. One day we will "reduate" into red and purple....but only when we are old enough!

The Butterfly Belles is my mother-in-law's new chapter. She started it, so she's the queen (or in this case, the Monarch). My "red hat" name is Princess Whirlabout....just in case you've been wondering about my address.

We had a lovely dinner at Gooney Bird's all dressed up in our finest red (or pink) attire. Each month we have at least one activity planned. Later this month our group will be attending Dickens of a Christmas downtown together. I'm not sure I'll be able to attend since we leave for NJ the next day, but I can't wait for our Christmas party later in December.
